The Ministry of Commerce, Gem & Jewelry Institute of Thailand,
in coorperation with Department of Tourism, Tourism Authority of
Thailand, Office of Consumer Protection Board, and Tourist Police
Bureau, have launched "
Buy With Confidence" project to assist consumers on buying gemstones and jewelry in Thailand.
As
simply as it takes, consumers can verify the stores and the jewelry by
scanning the QR codes. The QR code in front of the store provides the
information of that particular store. The QR code of the product leads
to the virtual GIT certificate, of which the original one could be asked
from the salesperson. All information about the specification and
quality are contained in the certificate.
