On 2 June 2015, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand, gave a public lecture on “New opportunities in Thai-Czech Partnership” at Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies, Mendel University in Brno.  Ambassador Sasitorn gave an overview about Thailand and Thai - Czech trade relations.  He stressed the importance of Thailand as the gateway to ASEAN and pointed out many new opportunities in this region.  There were around 100 students attending the lecture. On the same day, Ambassador Sasitorn had a meeting with Prof. RNDr Ladislav Havel, Rector of Mendel University and Prof. Dr. Ing. Libor Grega, Dean of the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies.  Both sides were satisfied with the existing cooperation between Mendel University and Kasetsart University in Thailand.  They also agreed that there is still room to increase cooperation on the field of education between Thailand and the Czech Republic.
