Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul said Thailand welcomed 2,641,998 foreign tourists in July, with Chinese and Malaysian visitors topping the nationality list. Once the new visa becomes available it’ll allow travellers to enter the country multiple times during the six month validity without the hassle of renewing or purchasing a new visa.
It will be effective within 60 days after receiving Cabinet approval last Tuesday and its publication in the Royal Gazette.
The move will bring Thailand into line with several other ASEAN countries, and the multiple-entry visa is expected to boost travel within the ASEAN region.
