Dusit International has become the first hotel group in Thailand to have multiple properties awarded Gold Certification by EarthCheck, the world’s leading environmental management and professional service group.
Nine Dusit International properties who have continuously benchmarked and certified their environmental and social performance through EarthCheck Certified have reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 34 per cent, cut energy and water consumption by almost 20 per cent, and reduced waste production by more than 2 million litres.
Mr. Stewart Moore, CEO and founder of EarthCheck, congratulated Dusit International on their long term commitment to sustainability.
“Dusit International has worked with EarthCheck since 2009 to implement a sustainability management system which aligns to the group’s corporate social responsibility approach, and we are very pleased to be awarding Gold Certification to these nine properties,” Mr. Moore said.
“Each property has individually taken responsibility for reducing their environmental footprint and encouraging community engagement. In addition to extensive energy reduction and water conservation programs, their actions also support local schools and disadvantaged students,” he said.
