The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has introduced a new campaign to trigger the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) industry in the country, reports Vietnam News Agency (VNA), citing National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).

TCEB President Nopparat Maythaveekulchai said his agency, in cooperation with the Pid Thong Lang Phra Foundation and the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association, launched a project to promote Thailand's potential in hosting international conferences and exhibitions

This is in accordance with the government's policies to distribute wealth across the nation and ensure sustainability in the country's MICE sector.

Maythaveekulchai said the project would be introduced in 30 locations nationwide including Bangkok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Ratchaburi, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ayutthaya and Ang Thong.

It is expected to bring in an annual growth of five per cent and generate more than 47 billion THB (US$1.33 billion) for the country.
