Thailand in Focus :: Opening Keynote Speech by Prime Minister of Thailand at the 47th Wharton Global Forum: Asia in a Borderless World

8b6a0b6a73c0014170cf2000a134b730_XL General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister of Thailand, described the word 'Thainess' in multi-dimensional way at the 47th Wharton Global Forum: Asia in a Borderless World, a forum held in Bangkok on 13 March 2015.

Thailand is a land of great opportunities and hope. Situated in the geographical centre and the business centre of Southeast Asia region, the country is an open society that welcomes business collaborations with an open arm. Teeming with abundant natural resources, Thailand is recognized as a land of milk and honey of the region and of the world, a home to a great variety of tourist attraction features, and a land of cultural treasures brimming with Thai charm and friendliness, all of which known as Thainess.

I would like to invite you all to discover “Thainess” which is the approach implemented this year to promote Thailand tourism by accentuating the real Thai authenticity that embraces a peaceful way of living in the midst of the differences, which is in accordance with His Majesty the King’s Sufficiency Economy philosophy. As well as showing generosity, hospitality and warmth. All of which are distinct characters of the Thai people.

In addition, he also mentioned about the role and potential of Thailand, in the regional aspect, as well as the opportunities in Thailand, business strategy and infrastructure development plan.
