Kasicorn Research expects that income earned by private hospitals listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand during 2015 will exceed THB100 billion, up 10 to 15% over 2014.
The increase is attributable to their business expansion in Bangkok and other potential provinces to accommodate more patients, especially the international patient segment that is projected to increase by over 10 % a year.
International medical tourists and expatriate patients will play an important role in bolstering income at Thai private hospitals.
The number of medical treatments provided to international patients by Thai private hospitals will reach 2.81 million during 2015, up 10.2 % on 2014. Official figures are based on the number of treatments, not the number of patients and goes a long way to explain the often used but inaccurate claims that Thailand gets over 2 million medical tourists. And the treatments are not just medical tourists, but include travellers and expatriates. Credit and view full story at International Medical Travel Journal
