Thailand in Focus :: Mers spread in hospitals denied as rumor

25/07/2015
Deputy Government Spokesperson Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd has reaffirmed that online posts about “Mers" spread in numerous hospitals in Thailand are fabricated, and that the public should live without concern over the rumor.

The posts are going viral on social media, saying that hospitals in several provinces in the northeastern and the central region of Thailand have found new Mers patients.

Maj Gen Sansern has pointed out that Mers control measures of the Public Health Ministry remain in force, and no person with the deadly virus infection has been found as reported.

People who have questions about Mers can keep themselves updated from the Disease Control Department website “www.ddc.moph.go.th” or "Mers Thai” web page on Facebook. Alternatively, they can call 1422 around the clock. Credit and view full story at National News Bureau of Thailand
