Thailand in Focus :: Over 52 Million Passengers To Use Suvarnabhumi Airport In 2015

01/10/2015
Thailand's Suvarnabhumi International Airport, which celebrates its ninth anniversary Monday, projected that more than 52 passengers will use the airport in 2015, an increase of 12 per cent from last year, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported Sirote Duangratana, director of the airport as saying.

He said that more than 400 million passengers have used the airport since its opening, reflecting passenger confidence and enabling Suvarnabhumi Airport to receive a certificate from Skytrax recognising the airport as one of the world's five outstanding airports used by between 40-50 million passengers annually.

Strategies have been mapped out to make the airport, which is under the supervision of state-run Airports of Thailand Public Co, Ltd, an international gateway in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and also cater to aviation industry growth in Asia-Pacific, he said.
