The government will be focusing on driving forward tourism activities, enhance income distribution and strengthening the economy on the community level, according to a publication.
The government’s ‘Thai Koo Fah’ publication has reported the government’s plan to further increase the country’s income from tourism by 10 billion baht during the last quarter of 2015, through the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s ’12 Can’t Miss Cities’ campaign.
It is revealed that the government will work together with the local administrative bodies to better facilitate tourists through the use of Japan’s highway rest area, as a model to set up retail community products and other facilities along the road.
It is estimated that the measure will ramp up public spending, strengthen the economy at the community level, and relive consequences expected from the upcoming drought season in 2016. An increase in retail of produces will help increase farmers’ income, and will raise income from tourism by up to 20-30 percent.
