 Press Release

Tender Project for Thailand's Electronic Passport (Third Phase)

**********

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand is currently seeking bidders with world-class experience in the electronic passport industry to take part in the Tender Project for Thailand’s Electronic Passport Project (Third Phase).

The Third Phase of Thailand’s Electronic Passport Project aims to build upon the service offered, the quality of passports produced and the technology used in the Second Phase. It should take into account the latest innovations, technological advances and security features in the industry and must also be in compliance with international standards and regulations.  As specified in the Terms of Reference, the project covers the production of 15 million passport booklets, or the duration of seven years once the contract is signed, whichever occurs first.

Bidders are now being sought through the Royal Thai Government’s Procurement system.  This electronic-bidding process will ensure transparency and the participation of qualified bidders, with consideration based upon the set price-performance criteria.

Interested bidders may also participate as business units, for example, as consortia or joint ventures.

Bidders who wish to submit their proposals for this project may purchase bidding documents, which includes detailed information and preliminary qualifications from http://www.gprocurement.go.th/new_index.html between 19 December 2018 -  27 March 2019.

The results of the bidding process will be announced on 8 May 2019, giving the successful bidder sufficient time to prepare for the commencement of actual operations on 1 March 2020.

Please kindly be informed that the Ministry will only respond to queries via e-mail at the following address: hearings_epp3@mfa.go.th.
