Royal Thai Embassy hosted the reception to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand

On 5 December 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted the reception to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, Thailand’s Fathers’ Day and the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Mirror Hall, Klementinum, Prague.  The 5 December has also been marked as the World Soil Day by the United Nations General Assembly in 2013 to honour His Majesty the late King’s work for the cause of soils.

There were approximately 200 participants including high-ranking officials of the Czech Government, for example H.E. Mr. Vladimir Bartl, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade (guest of honour), H.E. Mr. Tomas Kuchta, Deputy Minister of Defence, H.E. Mr. Ivan Jancarek, Junior Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Martin Klepetko, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.  Also present were members of diplomatic corps, and representatives of the Czech parliament, businesses, academia and media, as well as Friends of Thailand in the Czech Republic.

In his remarks, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic, paid tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej whose work and wisdom would continue to guide Thailand’s national development.  He also talked about the strong economic partnership between Thailand and the Czech Republic.  Meanwhile, H.E. Mr. Bartl, as guest of honour, delivered his remarks praising the role of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in bringing about stability and development in Thailand.  He also expressed confidence in the potential growth of the economic cooperation between the two countries.
