Dne 8. června 2017 se J.E. pan Narong Sasitorn, Velvyslanec Thajska v České republice, zúčastnil zahájení fotografické výstavy "Proměny Siamu" v Náprstkově muzeu asijských, afrických a amerických kultur v Praze. Zahájení se zúčastnili také Dr. Petra Smolíková, náměstkyně Ministra kultury České republiky, J.E. paní Savitri Suwansathit, poradkyně Ministra kultury Thajska, Dr. Michal Lukeš, Generální ředitel Národního muzea České republiky, Dr. Eva Dittertová, ředitelka Náprstkova muzea a mnoho pozvaných hostů.

Výstava je společným projektem velvyslanectví Thajského království v Praze, Ministerstva kultury Thajska, Národního muzea České republiky a Náprstkova muzea. Thajská strana vybrala množství snímků ze starých skleněných negativů z období mezi roky 1855 a 1935, což bylo období významných celosvětových proměn, stejně jako období modernizace Siamu (původní název Thajska). V současnosti jsou skleněné negativy uchovány v péči thajského Národního archivu, je jich tam více než 30 000.

Dne 9. června 2017 měla J.E. paní Savitri Suwansathit, poradkyně Ministra kultury Thajského království, přednášku na téma " Nejstarší fotografické portréty a krajiny Siamu (1855-1935) ", což je  přednáška doplňující fotografickou výstavu Proměny Siamu v Náprstkově muzeu. V této souvislosti také promuvil J.E. pan Vira Rojpojchanarat, Ministr kultury Thajska, který měl prezentaci o thajské kulturní konzervační a propagační politice.

Během své návštěvy v České republice ve dnech 9 - 10. června 2017, se J.E. pan Vira Rojpojchanarat, Ministr kultury Thajska, setkal s profesorem RNDr. Jiří Zlatuškou, CSc., předsedou Výboru pro vědu, vzdělání, kulturu a sport Poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu České republiky, aby spolu prodiskutovali kulturní spolupráci mezi Thajskem a Českou republikou.

Fotografická výstava "Proměny Siamu" je umístěna na nádvoří Náprstkova muzea do září 2017. Prohlídka výstavy je zdarma.

On 8 June 2017, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic, participated in the opening ceremony of “Siam in Transition” Photo Exhibition at the Naprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures in Prague.  Also attended were H.E. Dr. Petra Smolikiva, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mrs. Savitri Suwansathit, Adviser to the Minister of Culture of Thailand, Dr. Michal Lukes, General Director of the National Museum of the Czech Republic, and Dr. Eva Dittertiva, Director of the Naprstek Sueum, including a large number of invited guests. 

The Exhibition is a cooperative project between the Royal Thai Embassy in Prague, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, National Museum of the Czech Republic, and the Naprstek Museum.  The Thai side selected a score of pictures from the old glass plate negatives from the period between 1855 and 1935 which was the time of significant transformation of the world as well as the modernisation of Siam (an old name of Thailand).  Currently, the glass plate negatives are preserved under care of the National archives of Thailand and there are more than 30,000 pieces. 

On 9 June 2017, H.E. Mrs. Savitri Suwansathit, Adviser to the Minister of Culture of Thailand, gave a special talk on “Early Photographic Portraiture and Landscape in Siam (from 1855 – 1935)” which is a companion lecture for the Siam in Transition Photo Exhibition at the Naprstek Museum.  In this connection, H.E. Mr. Vira Rojpojchanarat, Minister of Culture of Thailand, gave an opening remarks and made presentation on Thailand’s cultural conservation and promotion policy.

During his visit to the Czech Republic between 9 – 10 June 2017, H.E. Mr. Vira Rojpojchanarat, Minister of Culture of Thailand, called on Professor RNDr. Jiri Zlatuska, CSc., Chairman of the Committee on Sciences, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Chamber of Deputies, Parliament of the Czech Republic, to discuss about cultural cooperation between Thailand and the Czech Republic.

The “Siam in Transition” Photo Exhibition is displayed in the courtyard of the Naprstek Museum until September 2017.  There is no admission fee to view the Exhibition.
