On 22 May 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy organised the second meeting of the Thai community in the Czech Republic in the series of the Thais Meet Project at the Embassy, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic. The Ambassador informed the meeting that the Royal Cremation Ceremony of the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is scheduled during 25 - 29 October 2017 in Bangkok.  The Royal Cremation Day is set on 26 October 2017 at 17.30 hours (Bangkok time) or at 12.30 hours (Prague time).  All Thais in the Czech Republic are invited to the ceremony of laying sandalwood flowers to pay final respect to the late His Majesty held on the same day at the same time at the Embassy. 

The Ambassador also informed the Thai community in the Czech Republic of political and economic developments in Thailand including the general election scheduled for next year, as well as the information about the Embassy’s consular services. The participants then exchanged views and experiences concerning living and working in the Czech Republic. Afterward, the Embassy hosted luncheon for all participants and Thai students studying in the Czech Republic
