Spring Flora Olomouc 2017 and the popular ‘Thai Pavilion’

The Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of TAT in Prague proudly took part in the Flora Olomouc International Horticultural Exhibition, held from 20 to 23 April 2017 in Olomouc. The Embassy actively supported the Exhibition in organizing the Thai Pavilion and Thai exhibition area.

The Thai exhibition area and programmes were very popular among the visitors, including the decoration of the Thai Pavilion, the exhibition of fresh orchids, cultural artefacts, scenic pictures of Thailand, Thai orchid photos, cultural performances, and especially, the paper umbrella painting demonstration. Moreover, the Embassy also took this opportunity to showcase the delicate Thai cuisine, in order to widely promote it to our friends in Olomouc, which is one of the biggest regions in the country.

On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand, also met with Mr. Antonín Staněk, the Mayor of Olomouc and the regional Chamber of Commerce and business representatives, as well as giving an interview to the Czech TV, aiming at promoting more cooperation between Czechia and Thailand.

The Flora Olomouc is the biggest event held in the Olomouc Region. The first exhibition was organized in 1958. It is estimated that the spring Flora Olomouc attracted around 80,000 visitors.

Jarní Flora Olomouc a 'Thajský pavilon'

Velvyslanectví Thajského království a Thajskou turistickou centrálou v Praze se s potěšením zúčastnilo zahradnické výstavy Flora Olomouc, pořádané ve dnech 20. - 23. dubna 2017 v Olomouci. Velvyslanectví aktivně podpořilo výstavu v přípravě Thajského pavilonu a Thajské výstavního prostoru.

Thajský výstavní prostor i program se těšil velkému zájmu návštěvníků, zejména dekorace Thajského pavilonu, výstava čerstvých orchidejí, umělecké předměty, scénické obrázky Thajska, fotografie thajských orchidejí, kulturní představení a obzvláště pak ukázky malování papírových paraplíček. Navíc velvyslanectví využilo tuto příležitost k převedení delikátní thajské kuchyně.

Při této příležitosti se J.E. pan Narong Sasitorn, thajský velvyslanec, také setkal se starostou Olomouce panem Antonínem Staňkem, krajskou Ochodní komorou a představiteli z oblasti obchodu, a poskytl rozhovor České televizi, zaměřený na prosazení větší míry spolupráce mezi Českem a Thajskem.

Flora Olomouc je největší událostí, která se koná v Olomouckém regionu. První ročník výstavy se uskutečnil v roce 1958. Předpokládá se, že jarní Flora Olomouc přilákala na 80,000 návštěvníků.
