On 28 February 2017, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic, visited the Region of Pilsen.  His programme of visit included a visit to the Skoda Transportation a.s. and calls on Mr. Josef Bernard, Governor of Pilsen, and Mr. Martin Zrzavecky, Mayor of the City of Pilsen.  Topics of discussion covered Thailand’s infrastructure development project and light rail (tram) project in Phuket Province, and the City of Pilsen’s urban development plan, as well as the possibilities of the Royal Thai Embassy in Prague to participate in cultural activities in Pilsen.

 The two sides also discussed about potentials for cooperation between Thai businesses and Czech businesses in Pilsen.  The conversation revolved around the news about the U City Public Company Limited of Thailand had taken over 24 hotels in Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Romania, under the brands Vienna House, Andel’s and Angelo.  The acquisition includes the Hotel Angelo in Pilsen and The Diplomat in Prague.
