On 13 August 2016 His Excellency Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic, together with high-level guests invited by the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the premier performance of the opera “The Silent Prince” in Prague, organized the Opera Siam International and led by Mr. Somtow Sucharitkul, a world-renown Thai composer and director, with more than 70 performers and musicians.

The Silent Prince is one of the stories about the last ten lives of the Buddha.  The performance is staged with a mixture of Buddhist philosophy and Thai arts and culture with contemporary voice.  First staged in 2010, it was a resounding success and received stunning reviews.  With the production about all ten lives of the Buddha in the pipeline, the project will be the most ambitious and creative work yet in the entire history of music and theatre, and the largest integrated work of classical music of all time.

In addition, on 15 August 2016, His Excellency the Ambassador of Thailand played a host to the luncheon in honour of Mr. Somtow Sucharitkul and The Silent Prince team at his Residence, before the group leaves for another performance on 17 August 2016 in Brno.

เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงปรากร่วมชมการแสดงอุปรากร เรื่อง เตมีย์ใบ้ (The Silent Prince)

เมื่อวันที่ 13 สิงหาคม 2559 นายณรงค์ ศศิธร เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงปราก และแขกระดับสูงที่ได้รับเชิญจากสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงปราก ได้ร่วมชมการแสดงอุปรากรเรื่องเตมีย์ใบ้ (The Silent Prince) ที่ Palac Akropolis กรุงปราก จัดโดย Opera Siam International และนำโดยนายสมเถา สุจริตกุล ผู้ประพันธ์เพลงและผู้กำกับชาวไทยที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลก และคณะนักแสดงและนักดนตรีมากกว่า 70 คน ซึ่งเดินทางมาเปิดการแสดงที่กรุงปรากเป็นครั้งแรก

เตมีย์ใบ้เป็นอุปรากรเกี่ยวกับหนึ่งในทศชาติชาดกของพระพุทธเจ้า โดยเป็นการแสดงที่ผสมผสานปรัชญาทางพุทธศาสนาและศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย และนำเสนอแบบร่วมสมัย โดยจัดการแสดงครั้งแรกเมื่อปี 2553 ที่สหรัฐอเมริกา ประสบความสำเร็จและได้รับคำนิยมอย่างมาก ทั้งนี้ Opera Siam International มีโครงการที่จะนำทศชาติชาดกมาจัดแสดงในรูปแบบอุปรากรและการแสดงบัลเลต์ให้ครบทั้งสิบชาดก ซึ่งจะทำให้โครงการดังกล่าวเป็นผลงานการที่สร้างสรรค์และท้าทายที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ทางดนตรีและการแสดงบนเวที และยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดสำหรับงานด้านดนตรีคลาสสิกเท่าที่เคยมีมา

นอกจากนี้ เมื่อวันที่ 15 สิงหาคม 2559 เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวันเพื่อเป็นการต้อนรับและแสดงความยินดีในความสำเร็จของนายสมเถาฯ และคณะทั้งหมด ที่ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ก่อนที่คณะจะเดินทางไปเปิดการแสดงอีกครั้งในวันที่ 17 สิงหาคม 2559 ที่เมือง Brno
