24/06/2015

On 26-27 December last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in collaboration with relevant agencies, organized a remembrance event to remember those lives lost in the Indian Ocean Tsunami on 26 December 2004, to give support to survivors and relatives of the victims, to pay tribute to those who provided humanitarian assistances and to raise awareness of the importance of disaster risk reduction and preparedness, in Phang Nga province.  One of the participants is Ms. Petra Němcová, the famous Czech model, Television host and philanthropist. She was there in Thailand in 2004 right at the moment the country was hit by the Tsunami disaster. Despite the loss and severe injuries she faced, her appreciation towards the assistance from Thais and foreigners inspired her to extend love for others by establishing the 'Happy Hearts Fund' to help on rebuiding safe-resilient schools for children impacted by natural disasters in many countries. Here is some parts of the story she shared with everyone at the remembrance ceremony in Thailand. Take a look and you will see how powerful the 'unconditional love' is!
