On 11 December 2017, Ms. Viyada Srirangkul, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Prague Office, attended the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition on Thailand “Welcome to the Land of Smiles”, on behalf of H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic, upon invitation of the Czech – Thai Society, at the Lucerna Passsage, Lucerna Theatre, Prague.

The exhibition displays 48 photographs of Thailand, which were selected from more than one thousand entries in the competition organised earlier by the Society.  The purpose of the competition was to promote the visibility of Thailand in the Czech Republic by inviting the Czech people to enter their quality pictures taken during their memorable visits to Thailand and displaying them to the Czech public.  Both the competition and the exhibition were supported by the Royal Thai Embassy and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Prague Office.  The exhibition will be on show at the Lucerna Passage from 11 December 2017 to 11 January 2018.

The Czech - Thai Society was founded in 1998 with a view to promoting the ties between Thailand and the Czech Republic in all aspects.  Members of the Society are Czech people who are “Friends of Thailand”.  The Royal Thai Embassy has worked together with the Society in a number of projects over the years; both support each other in individual and joint activities.
